Comment
I have graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry in 1999. I have been a PhD student in Gazi University, Faculty of Dentistry between 2001-2007. During my PhD studies I have applied for Monbukagagusho (MEXT) Scholarship of Japanese Government for being a visiting researcher and awarded with it. I was very excited when I had the chance to study in Japan, more particularly in Okayama University. From the first day of the scholarship application all the staff of Department of Preventive Dentistry was very helpful and welcoming. After my scholarship approval I have studied in Department of Preventive Dentistry, Okayama University Graduate School of Medicine and Pharmaceutical Sciences between 2003 April- 2005 April for 2 years, where I was introduced with molecular studies and microbiological studies within University’s well-equipped laboratory. My perspective of dental education as well as periodontal research widened. I also enjoyed and respected the Japanese working environment. In my point of view, collaboration of different scientific disciplines of different countries helps to improve the quality of future research and treatment modalities. I believe that having a chance to witness, learn, practice and compare the different perspectives and treatment modalities at Department of Preventive Dentistry, was very valuable for improvement of my vision and skills throughout my academic carrier. |
