Nontraditional Machining Laboratory of Okayama University is doing research on EDM, EBM, LBM, ECM, biomachining and so on. With the rapid progress of technology, various new materials which have many excellent properties have been developed, and the characteristics of industrial materials have been improved. Most of these materials are difficult to machine by the conventional methods and they require some new machining methods. In our laboratory, various new machining methods for the future with electric, electronic, optical, magnetic, chemical and biological energy as a tool have been studied.
